ABSTRACT

Abstract The deflections of nine concrete beams, prestressed with three different types of FRP tendons, were monitored for a period of one year and compared to a control group of similar beams prestressed with steel tendons. The FRP tendons used in the beams were Epoxy/Carbon, Epoxy/Aramid, and a fiberglass reinforced plastic. Initial results indicate that current methods for predicting long term deflections underestimate the deflections of FRP tendons.
