ABSTRACT
An in-house committee composed of users, academics, the tank manufacturer and general contractor engineers studied the design concept and aseismic safety of the in pit tank system, which conforms to the requirements for double containment tanks as specified by BS7777-1993. The 85,000-m3 in-pit storage tank is shown in Figures 3. It will be also in service by spring of 1996.
