ABSTRACT
Segregation vs Openness. From a fire viewpoint it is desirable to segregate a platform into discrete zones within which a fire can be contained. However, such segregation, using solid firewalls, could result in an increase of overpressure if an explosion occurred. In order to reduce explosion overpressures, confinement should be reduced.
