ABSTRACT
Abstract Four 3:7 scale model tests on girder segments of the Europe-Bridge in Zurich, Switzerland, are described. The tests allowed to conclude that no additional strengthening measures were necessary on this particular bridge. In addition, the information gained through these tests is believed to be very useful for similar investigations of other bridges. Keywords: Bridge strengthening, shear capacity.
