Anon. There is a reference to short anchorage in the paper. Has this work been published anywhere? Prof Clark: The work on the short anchorages and the work on the pushout test with inadequate anchors - these were Mattock type pushout tests - have been published in Magazine of Concrete Research. The beam tests were published at the Guildford Conference on Bridge Management in April this year. If I could just comment, in the Guildford paper we came up with some proposals for dealing with short anchorage of main bars in doing shear assessment. In the same conference there were tests published by Transport Research Laboratory - similar tests -which are less conservative. So there is some conflict at the moment in the test data that are available.
