ABSTRACT

Abstract Strength and stiffness evaluation of structural elements in an ex1stmg structure, particularly when it suffers accidental overloads require extensive experimental investigations at the site. This paper presents the detailed static and dynamic tests carried out on a full scale structure. The quality of concrete has been assessed based on ultrasonic wave velocity measurements over a close grid of points. An innovative loading scheme was used to carryout static tests on structural elements. Forced vibration tests using mechanical oscillator were also carriedout.
