ABSTRACT
A variety of test methods have been developed to measure the ability of concrete mate rials to absorb and transmit water by capillarity [22]. Similarly there has been a long standing interest in measuring the water permeability or saturated hydraulic conducti vity of concrete materials. Most, if not all, of these test procedures are applicable to measurements using organic liquids rather than water, although clearly with some or ganic liquids special safety precautions are essential.
