ABSTRACT

Abstract The existence of cracks appears to modify significantly the transfer properties of con crete structures. The cracks may occur due to mechanical loads, imposed deformations and ageing stresses. Several experimental procedures have been developed to quantify their influence on the tightnes of structures. As reparations must be considered, the tightnes of repaired cracks has been studied. This chapter is a review of these experi ments. Practical engineering recommendations in terms of modelling and reparations are proposed.
