ABSTRACT
The key soil-related parameters identified in Chapter 1 were the advective velocity, diffusion coefficient, distribution/partitioning coefficient, effective porosity and dispersivity. The advective velocity will depend on the hydraulic gradient and hydraulic conductivity as already discussed. In this chapter, consideration will be focused on the other parameters with respect to clayey barriers.
