Low-energy cements

The term "low-energy cements" is used to designate cements that may be used to replace ordinary Portland cement, at least in some applications, yet can be produced with a reduced consumption of energy. It is believed that a more extended use of such cements would both reduce the production costs of the binder and lower undesired emissions, especially those of CO2.
