ABSTRACT
Most of the compounds exhibiting cementing properties may be envisaged as being composed of simple oxides of different basicity, out of which calcium oxide most often represents the more basic member. For example, tricalcium silicate (Ca3SiO5), may be envisaged as a combination of three CaO and one SiO2.
