ABSTRACT
Soffit forms can be defined as level, or near level, single faced formwork surfaces used to be the mould for the underside of reinforced concrete structures such as suspended floor slabs. These form surfaces are walked on by the site personnel, are used as a storage area for formwork components and reinforcement, and provide a working area for the formworkers and other following trades. Its function, at all construction stages, as a work area as well as a mould for the fluid concrete makes safety a paramount consideration. The completed form should have guardrails at its perimeter and be provided with adequate access ladders or stairs.
