ABSTRACT
Not all formwork is removed when the concrete no longer requires support. There can be advantages in leaving it in place, even if these are only in the elimination of stripping costs. This formwork is generally known as PERMANENT formwork but sometimes as LOST or SACRIFICIAL formwork. As will be seen, in some cases these alternate labels can sometimes be more appropriate.
