ABSTRACT

The design and construction of reinforced concrete facilities affected by water and below-zero temperatures required a system of regulations reflecting specifications for frost resistance of concrete. This system has been developed for decades and now includes the following basic documents that regulate climatic effects and frost resistance of concrete: • SNiP (Building Code) 2.01.01-82. Building climatology and geophysics. • SNiP 2.01.07-85. Loads and actions. • SNiP 2.03.01-84. Design specifications. Plain and reinforced concrete structures. • SNiP 2.06.08-87. Plain and reinforced concrete structures of hydraulic facilities. • SNiP 2.06.02-85. Motor roads. • SNiP 2.05.03-84. Bridges and pipes. • SNiP 2.04.02-84. Water supply. External networks and facilities. • SNiP 2.11.02-87 Refrigerators. • SNiP 2.05.08-85. Airfields. • COST 19804.0-78. Driven reinforced concrete piles. • COST 17608-91. Concrete pavement slabs. • GOST 6665-91. Plain and reinforced concrete curb stones • GOST 25912.0-91. Reinforced concrete slabs for airfield pavements. • GOST 20425-75. Tetrapods for coast-protecting and other protecting structures. • GOST 9561-76. Reinforced concrete panels for floors of buildings and structures. • GOST 10060-96. Concretes. Methods for deterrnining frost resistance. • GOST 26134-84. Concretes. An ultrasonic method for determining frost resistance.
