ABSTRACT

Systems are essential for the few managers and technicians to cope with the vast multipurpose use, diverse operations, endless maintenance and market upgrading in a global enterprise for the new generations of high-rise facilities. They depend on the hardware of 'information technology', the software of 'building intelligence' and their appropriate use by 'expert' facility managers. Systems allow us to organise ways to: provide resources responsibly; monitor performance; diagnose operations; respond to plan; design better alternatives; evaluate improvements; implement changes and adjust for an appropriate performance.
