upon both the system characteristics and the irrigation scheduling [2] [3]. Both parameters are good indicators of the environmental appropriateness of the systems design and management. High uniformities provide for improved use of water by the field crops, avoid overirrigation in a part of the field, and contribute to control leaching of agro-chemicals. High efficiencies are associated with appropriate conditions to control water wastes and water contamination, and to use low quality water and irrigating saline soils. DU e ea are better estimated when using field data from field evaluations and, often, with help of simulation models [4].
