As observed in the "Sinistra Ofanto" irrigation scheme, managed by the Consorzio di Bonifica of Capitanata (Foggia-Italy), even when the designed discharges are not exceeded, very low hydraulic performances may occur due to important pressure deficits during the whole irrigation season, mainly during the peak periods.
