ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION Modern stadia and arenas face the ever growing challenge of excelling at being the best location for numerous different types of events. Achieving this means maximising on the use of the facility and hence generating increased revenue. Excelling at being the best is not a holy grail, but it is something that careful design and planning at the early stages of conception can have a significant effect upon. An important part of this is the electronic infrastructure and the desired flexibility can only be reached with an integrated system approach in which systems communicate with each other, improving management, reducing operating costs, enhancing safety and ultimately giving more than the sum of the individual components.
