ABSTRACT

Construction planning The planning of construction methods may properly be defined as 'understanding what has to be built, then establishing the right method, the right plant and the right labour force to carry out the works, safely and to the quality required, in the most economical way to meet the clients requirements'. Within this definition, it should be noticed that no reference is made to programming or programming methods. Within the meaning of planning as set out in this book programmes are not part of the planning process - they represent the results of planning, in visual form, for the benefit of site management.
