ABSTRACT
Surface water drainage is the practice of intercepting, controlling and discharging surface water run-off from specific catchment areas. In its simplest form it may involve a roof gutter collecting rainwater from a roof and discharging it via an outlet to a rainwater pipe which then discharges it into a pipe laid in the ground and which leads to a ditch.
