ABSTRACT

The introduction of new information systems into the vehicle is likely to have an effect on driver behaviour and performance. In a complex system where so much variability exists, the prediction of the exact nature of that effect is difficult to make. This final collection of papers throws some light onto the problem of how changes in driver behaviour could or should be studied. No generic methodology exists, different techniques are appropriate in different circumstances, and have been reviewed elsewhere (Parkes, 1991; Zaidel, 1991).
