ABSTRACT

When writing about ‘behavioural studies of accident causation’ in the frame of a book about ‘driving future vehicles’, the authors have DRIVE and PROMETHEUS and new RTI-systems in mind, which are going to be developed as a consequence of work with these programmes. This means that the aim of this contribution is to point out aspects in behaviour which should be supported, influenced, or modified by new systems and functions in order to achieve those traffic characteristics these two big European projects are aiming at with respect to traffic safety.
