ABSTRACT
According to the earliest writings concerned with man’s attempts to understand the universe, there has been a captivation with the nature of things-their intrinsic constitutions and their motions. Why has there been such interest in the things of our environment? I think that the answer is probably rooted in our primitive instincts having to do with the drive for survival.
