ABSTRACT

The ability to drive is one of the most important concerns for disabled people. The assessments of driving ability include several essential biomechanical parameters such as the forces and moments on the hand and upper limb. Previous studies are limited to the grip strength and maximum hand force acting on the rim of the steering wheel. However, to get a full understanding of the control ability of driving, the determination of three dimensional forces and moments on the upper limb during driving is required.
