Risk is defined as ‘exposure to the chance of injury or loss; a hazard or dangerous chance’.1 Risk reduction can be accomplished by decreasing the level of exposure to a poison. Risk management is another term used for risk reduction and these terms will be used interchangeably in this chapter.
