ABSTRACT
Industrial development will continue creating costs in the form of risks for public health and the environment, unless urgent action is taken. In essence it is a large area of risk management aiming at minimizing risks. In this context a new method known as ‘resource conscious development’, more in conformity with the law of nature, is gaining popularity in almost all activity sectors. More specifically pollutant source reduction as a subsector of waste minimization technologies is applicable to both existing and projected industries.
