ABSTRACT
Because of the strong correlation between energy and economic and social development, the terms energy and life have become synonymous. In theory, all nations, developed and developing, aspire to free themselves from energy dependency. However, in practice the need for energy is growing at such a rate that the work on the research and development of the related technology has achieved boundless dimensions. The welfare of man in turn, has become directly related to the per capita consumption of energy.
