ABSTRACT

Previous research has Med to consistently link the diagnosis of novel system Mures to measures of intelligence. In this paper two studies are reported which examine the development of diagnostic skill from the perspective of Ackerman's (1988) Theory of the Ability Determinants of Skill Acquisition. The studies show that the pattern of correlates between fruit finding skill and measures of cognitive performance are predictable providing level of practice, task complexity and difficulty are taken into account.
