ABSTRACT
I. INTRODUCTION The possibilities of obtaining derivatives from alkyl glucosides and alkyl polyglucosides are so numerous that they cannot all be discussed here. This chapter is therefore devoted to demonstrating the principle by means of sev eral examples and presents some modifications typical of surfactant chem istry that also produce surfactants. The resulting derivatives may be non ionic, anionic, or cationic surfactants.
