ABSTRACT
I. INTRODUCTION Because the etiology of Crohn 's disease is unknown, the perception of what constitutes the illness and distinguishes it from others is based on observations of pathology and symptoms that occur together. There is a variety of presentations of the disease; yet, with each presentation, the pathology and symptoms go hand in hand. In this chapter, this relationship of pathology and symptoms is examined.
