ABSTRACT
Inteachingthistopicinmyseminarsandalsothroughvarious consultingassignments,myexperiencehasshownthatmanycompanies,especially"hi-tech"companies,havenotthoughtaboutinterchangeabilityrules.Itismyconvictionthatagoodengineeringdocumentationcontrolsystemmustcontainasetofinterchangeability definitionsandrulesifwearetocontrolourengineeringdocumentation.Hence,thischapterwillshowtheabsolutenecessityforhaving suchasetofrules.
