ABSTRACT
In simple random and systematic sampling, the only information required on the universe units prior to sampling is the serial listing. For systematic sampling, although it was indicated that a re-arrangement of the universe units according to the values of an ancillary variable might provide more efficient estimators, only the relative magnitudes rather than the actual values of the ancillary variable are required.
