ABSTRACT
The management of the first phases of a project requires outstanding communication and people skills. The task is to take multiple sets of ideas, rough notes, sketches, and somebody else's thoughts and develop the information into a recognizable design scope (with options) and to develop an associated cost and time budget. As there is often little definition to the thoughts and ideas of others, the ability to motivate others to a firm and common approach is, essentially, a people problem.
