ABSTRACT
In addition to direct estimation of tension achieved, it is possible for the signature analysis method to detect bolt yield, thread strip, and embedment problems. A comparison of the release angle signature and the installation torque angle can be used to evaluate the clamp load retained after a dynamic test.
