Additionally,specialpropertiesmaybeproducedbythecodepositionoftwometalsthat formalloys,someofwhichcanbeproducedonlybyelectrodepositionandnotthroughstandard metallurgicaltechniques.Nickel-zincalloycoatingshavechemicalpropertiesbetweenthoseof thetwocomponentmetals.Althoughnotasgoodaseithermetalalone,thealloyhasbetter hightemperatureoxidationresistancethanzincandbetteratmosphericcorrosionresistance thannickel.However,nickel-tindepositshavepropertiesunlikethoseofeitherofthealloying metalsalone.Thisalloyhasapleasingbrightpinkishappearanceandapproachesthenoble metalsincorrosionresistance.
