ABSTRACT
For many years, reputable fastener manufacturers have placed their company identification symbols on their products. Currently it is mandatory that all externally threaded products 1/4 in. or larger manufactured to SAE, ASTM, IFI, or ASME standards carry markings of the manufacturing source-unless, of course, the product configuration or hardness precludes reasonable marking.
