ABSTRACT

Mesoventrite short, mostly concealed by prosternal process; mesocoxal cavity round, limited laterally by mesepimeron. Mesocoxae round with limited range of motion. Mesotrochanter short and triangular and fused to basoventral portion of femur. Mesofemur elongate and narrow (Notomicrus, Pronoterus, Mesonoterus) to short and very wide (remaining genera); with poorly to well-defined row of broadly spaced, stiff, elongate spines on anteroventral surface. Mesotibia slender and elongate (Notomicrus, Mesonoterus) to shorter and widened apically with sparse row of stiff, elongate spines on anterior and anteroventral surfaces and row of short, dense spines on apical margin, with row of long, natatory setae on dorsal surface. Mesotarsi slender and elongate, mesotarsomere 1 longer than mesotarsomeres 2, 3 and 4 which are longer than wide; mesotarsomere 5 longest, with row of long, natatory setae on dorsal margin of basal mesotarsomeres; males with mesotarsomeres 1 to 3 perceptibly to distinctly broadened, apex of mesotarsomere 1, and ventral surface of mesotarsomeres 2 and 3 with some short, unmodified setae or with enlarged articulo-setae; two rather short claws on mesotarsomere 5.
