12.1 INTRODUCTION
A gas-turbine combustor is located between the compressor and turbine in a gas turbine engine, and performs the function of burning fuel that releases heat and increases the temperature of the working fluid (air plus products of combustion). The combustion process occurs at nearly constant

pressure. Various fuels are used, including gaseous fuels (e.g., natural gas, syngas, etc.) and liquid fuels (e.g., JetA, JP fuels, diesel, etc.).
