ABSTRACT

Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice

(ACA, 1997). Counseling’s

Code of Ethics

is similar in many ways to psychology’s “Ethical Principles,” discussed in the previous chapter (APA, 1992). This similarity is not surprising given the considerable overlap in the concerns and roles of the two groups of professionals. However, the two codes are structured quite differently, and there are notable differences in points of emphasis of the two codes.
