ABSTRACT
The developments about the Internet have been key to the develop ment of the World Wide Web. Internet started out as a research project funded by the United States Department of Defense. Much of the work was carried out in the 1970s. It was at this time that there were numer ous developments with networking. We began to see various network ing protocols and products emerge. In addition standards groups such as International Standards Organzation proposed a layered stack of proto cols for networking. The Internet research resulted in TCP/IP (Trans mission Control Protocol/ Internet Protocol) for transport communica tion.
