ABSTRACT

The Remote Sensing Monitoring Information System of Soil and Water Conservation (MISSWC) on the Loess Plateau introduced in this paper is oriented to supplying current situation of soil and water conservation. This is a multi-level integrated system. It consists of 3 levels each having different tasks. 1 The top level is based on environmental satellite imagery, from NOAA

(AVHRR). It emphasizes the general or tendency change of the plateau region, especially boundaries of forestry in the center and desertification in the north .
