Contemporary Topics in Laboratory Animal Science are both pub lished by AALAS and senre to communicate relevant information. AALAS sponsors a program for certification of laboratory animal science professionals at 3 levels : assistant laboratory animal technician (ALAT) , laboratory animal technician (LAT) , and lab oratory animal technologist (LATG) . The AALAS-affiliated Insti tute for Laboratory Animal Management (HAM) is a program designed to provide state of the art training in laboratory animal facility management. In addition, the association sponsors an annual meeting and an internet site . Local groups have also organized into smaller branches .
