ABSTRACT
Many examples of parallelism exist in life situations, such as open
heart surgery, war crisis (coordination of Army, Navy, and Air Force),
highway driving in lanes, and aircraft design. Parallel computing has
evolved through: (a) the need for Science and Engineering applications,
and (b) signicant changes in the economy of scale (VLSI).
