ABSTRACT
Although dehydrogenation is the reverse of hydrogenation, and theoretically the same catalysts should be operable in either direction, there are substantial practical differences between the two processes. These differences become clear when the following facts are considered:
• Since dehydrogenation is endothermic, high temperatures and lower pressures favor dehydrogenation.
