ABSTRACT

The rate of change today is higher than it ever has been in the past. There is now more pressure on information technology (IT) professionals than ever before. IT firms or departments must do more with less, and must do so quicker than ever before given today’s competitive environments. Given these factors, it is even more critical today that IT companies employ successful change strategies and processes. If a company cannot quickly and successfully adapt to change, it is destined to fail. The purpose in writing this chapter is to propose a model that will allow for successful change in IT firms. This model is reinforced by more than 30 years of research and personal experiences, and has proven successful in many of today’s top IT firms.
