ABSTRACT
Thestorageofseedsasgrainandotherstaplefoodandfeedfreeoffungal contaminationisofimportancetoconsumersofallnations.Ithasgreaterimportancetonationsthatearnincomefromtheexportofagriculturalcommodities. Aninternationalassociation,theGroupforAssistanceonSystemsRelatingto GrainAfter-Harvest(GASGA),isavoluntaryassociationlinkedwithdonor operationsthatpromotethepreservationofgraininstorage.GASGAhasthe followingobjectives:1
l.Tostimulatetechnicalcooperationinallaspectsofgrainpostharvestresearch anddevelopmentinbothdevelopinganddevelopedcountries;
2.Toidentifyandseekwaysofmeetingresearchanddevelopmenttraining,and informationneedsinthepostharvestsubsector;
3.Toserveanadvisoryroleandprovideaforumforexchangeoftechnical information,experienceandideasforaglobalcollaborativeapproachtofungal andmycotoxinproblems.
