ABSTRACT
The primary desired product is DMA, and the equilibrium mixture leaving the reactor contains more TMA and MMA than can be sold. Therefore the excess amounts of these components are recycled back to the reactor from the separation section. A large excess of ammonia is used drive the per-pass conversion of methanol to close to 100%.
