ABSTRACT
We, as engineers, program and/or QA managers, must conduct reliability calculations to develop an understanding of failure issues as a basis for the first year and extended warranty schedules or as a basis for maintenance and repair scheduling. To do this, we need to determine the reliability of components individually and the assembly as a whole. For this purpose, we need to calculate Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) or Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
