ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the following intelligent (nonconventional) optimization techniques, reportedly successful in solving a wide variety of search and optimization problems in science, engineering and commerce, are described:
Genetic algorithm (GA) Simulated annealing algorithm (SAA) Particle swarm optimization (PSO) Tabu search (TS) Ant colony optimization (ACO)
Implementation of these techniques is described in Chapter 4 through Chapter 9 for different manufacturing optimization problems.
