ABSTRACT

During the rise of bubble-particle aggregates to the froth phase the attached particles are subjected to a number of forces. Some of these forces tend to detach the particles from the bubble surface. The other forces counterbalance the detaching forces and, thereby, prevent the bubble-particle aggregates from deaggregation. Therefore, the analysis of forces on the particles attached to the bubble surface has been the focus of the study on the stability of bubble-particle aggregates since the early days of flotation [ 1-7].
